Something Wicked This Way Comes is one of my favorite books, so in honor of Ray Bradbury, I drew a few 'scenes' from the novel....Jim Nightshade considering taking a ride on the cursed carousel, Miss Foley's youthful apparition luring her into the House of Mirrors, Mr. Dark zapping an ancient Mr. Cooger back to life, Will Halloway examining the bizarre lightning rod and his father having a midnight thinking session in the library.
There's something deeply poetic about Bradbury's writing which I can't really pinpoint. Every now and again, you'll pick up a book where the characters are so vivid and the story so intriguing that the written world seems to manifest itself off the paper, not unlike the imagery of a good movie or comic. Reading Ray Bradbury's work was like that for me, beautiful literary magic which immerses you within the world behind the printed page. So thank you Ray Bradbury, for sharing your stories with the world. You will surely live forever and continue to inspire others through them.
